The original concept behind Thirteen Stars was to be Hoss Thompson ‘ s solo project. Inevitably it developed into a fully-fledged band in 2010 and citing influences such as; Led Zeppelin, Queen, The Rolling Stones, Free & The Beatles it came as no surprise how quickly the band built up a strong local following. In hindsight, Thirteen Stars would acknowledge that eagerness took over, and with the lengthy list of requests for an album, the band decided to go DIY. While still having confidence in the song writing of that period, little can be boasted about the overall production of what became not one, but three self-financed albums. Autumn 2014 saw the arrival of new management, Raz White, and a structured plan to increase Thirteen Stars profile & produce what would be their official debut album to be released via an established record label. Their live reputation increased dramatically and the band was sent to Matt Ellis at Axis Studios (Terrorvision, Black Spiders, Knock Out Kaine, Skarlett Riot) to record what would be their best work to date. On this occasion the production was impeccable and several record labels showed immediate interest in working with the band.
Thirteen Stars have shared many stages with bands such as; Vintage Trouble, John Wait, Magnum, Heavens Basement, The Matt Poss Band, Nimmo Brothers & The Quireboys.
Thirteen Stars signed a lucrative two album deal with Off Yer Rocka records (home of The Quireboys, Bonafide, Skam & Massive Wagons to name a few) on Oct 1st which will see their new album ‘The White Raven’ released Worldwide via the label in Nov 2015. Thirteen Stars, are strongly tipped for big things in 2016 will open the main stage at Hard Rock Hell Festival on Friday 13th November and join an incredible array of bands for HRH road trip in Ibiza May 2016. They also intend to take up the offer of some shows in Los Angeles in July 2016. Hoss and Jax are both endorsed by 65 Amps (Los Angeles).
Hoss quotes: “We are thrilled and delighted to be signing to Off Yer Rocka Records. The wealth of talent on their roster speaks volumes about the label and we feel incredibly honoured to be joining such a plethora of sublime musicians and bands.
